There seems to be much interest in building a "green" building. I'm all for building an energy efficient building but there is no reason to go out of our way to do this. Buying quality materials should be sufficient.

"green" to me means minimal impact on the environment....design and materials that allow for healthy runoff, for example....perhaps solar cells that can generate or recycle some of the energy....most people do not know how to conserve resources or live green, this building should model that particular value to the community.

Energy efficiency is needed to save money in the long run. The building is huge and will be very expensive to heat and cool -- those soaring gables are a waste of money! This is independent of the need to be a good example to our children and act as a forward-looking community in building something "green"
